"Dangerous" was the first single from Big Data, Alan Wilkis's electronic project, and the calling card on its 2013 debut EP, 1.0, before it resurfaced on the 2015 album 2.0. Wilkis put it out digitally on October 1, 2013 through his own label, Wilcassettes, with Joywave's Daniel Armbruster singing, and it's jittery, glitch-flecked dance-rock with a chorus that lands like a warning.
It had legs: a remix EP called 1.5 stacked up eight reworkings that December, the single came out again the following June, and it turned up in the film Earth to Echo. The video, directed by Brandon LaGanke and John Carlucci of GHOST+COW from a concept worked out with Wilkis, follows two shoe designers whose new athletic sneaker pushes the wearer toward violence.
