About DC101
WWDC (DC101) is a commercial station on 101.1 MHz licensed to Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, D.C., owned by iHeartMedia; it first aired in 1949. In the mid-1970s it switched to album rock, and in the 1990s it began adding modern and alternative rock acts to compete with WHFS, changing to its current alternative rock format by 2005. The station is the flagship of the syndicated Elliot in the Morning show.
