Tap the button for your device. RockLists installs straight from your browser, so there’s no app store and no account needed.
iPhone & iPad
- Open www.rocklists.com in Safari (on iOS 16.4 or later, Chrome and Edge work too).
- Tap the Share button (at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, at the top on iPad).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don’t see it, tap Edit Actions and add it.
- Make sure Open as Web App is on if it’s shown, then tap Add. The RockLists icon appears on your home screen.
Android
- Open www.rocklists.com in Chrome (Samsung Internet, Edge and Firefox work too).
- Tap the Download for Android button above and choose Install.
- If no install window appears, tap the browser menu ⋮ and choose Add to Home screen, then Install.
- RockLists appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.
Computer
In Chrome or Edge on Windows, Mac or Linux, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (or open the browser menu and choose Install RockLists). On a Mac with Safari, choose File › Add to Dock.
Questions
Is it really an app?
It’s the RockLists website packaged as a home-screen app: it has its own icon, opens full screen without the browser’s address bar, and shows up in your app switcher. Everything on the site works the same way, including your account and your lists.
Does it cost anything or use much space?
No. It’s free and uses well under a megabyte, because the countdowns load from the site as you browse.
How do I get updates?
You don’t have to do anything. Every new countdown and ranking shows up as soon as it’s added to the archive.
How do I remove it?
Remove it like any other app: press and hold the RockLists icon and choose Remove App (iPhone and iPad) or Uninstall (Android).
