99.9 The Buzz (WBTZ) serves Burlington, Vermont, and the Plattsburgh and Montreal areas with alternative rock. Its Top 99 year-end countdowns from 2000 through 2006 and two all-time lists are archived on RockLists.
Licensed to Plattsburgh, New York, with a signal that reaches across Lake Champlain to Burlington and north into Montreal, WBTZ adopted the alternative format as 99.9 The Buzz in the mid-1990s. Owned by Hall Communications, the station built a following on both sides of the border and became a regular stop for touring alternative bands playing Burlington's Higher Ground and Montreal's clubs.
The Buzz's year-end Top 99 countdowns for 2000 through 2006 were contributed to RockLists by listeners, along with a Top 99 Songs of All-Time from around 1999 and a partial all-time countdown from Labor Day 2002.
