"Inside the Fire" was the lead single from Indestructible, the fourth studio album from American heavy metal band Disturbed, released as a download in March 2008. Guitarist Dan Donegan produced it, with singer David Draiman and drummer Mike Wengren co-producing; the three wrote it together, John Moyer plays bass, and Neal Avron mixed it.
It's a grim one, even by this band's standards: the song circles around suicide, and the video carried those themes so plainly that an edited cut of both song and clip had to go out with them removed. None of that slowed it down. Donegan's riffs chug like a machine, Draiman barks and croons over the top, and the song went to number one on the Mainstream Rock chart, picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance and went double platinum in the US.
