"Human Race" was the third single from Human, the fifth studio album by Canadian rockers Three Days Grace, and it landed on March 23, 2015, along with a lyric video on the band's YouTube channel. It was born on the road. Guitarist Barry Stock told Loudwire it came together on tour, sparked by the din and traffic he took in while driving through Salt Lake City, and drummer Neil Sanderson recalled someone asking why everyone was in such a rush and whether they ever tired of running the human race. They started writing right then.
Gavin Brown produced it and has a hand in the writing alongside Stock, Sanderson, Matt Walst and Brad Walst, and Nick Raskulinecz mixed. An alternate "atmosphere version" turned up on the deluxe edition of Human, and at the 2015 Loudwire Music Awards the song was up for Rock Song of the Year.
