"Look Around" struts out of I'm with You, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' tenth studio album, from 2011, and became the third single pulled from the record. Rick Rubin produced, and the songwriting credit is split four ways, between Anthony Kiedis, Flea, drummer Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer. It's funk rock that lives on the groove, with Money Mark's Hammond organ and Mauro Refosco's percussion thickening the stew. Andrew Scheps recorded it with Greg Fidelman and Ryan Hewitt, then mixed it.
Robert Hales directed the video, which pans through four rooms with a band member stationed in each. Smith gave the game away in December 2011 with a Twitter photo of his drum kit beside a toilet from the shoot, and the clip slipped out on the band's website a day ahead of its official January 25, 2012 release.
