"It's a Shame" comes from Ruins, the First Aid Kit album that arrived in January 2018, and it's the sound of Johanna and Klara Söderberg singing together in a room full of guests. Tucker Martine produced and recorded it and added percussion, Peter Buck plays electric guitar, Glenn Kotche sits at the drums, Melvin Duffy lays pedal steel over the top, and Benkt Söderberg handles bass, with Klara on guitar too.
Andrew Scheps mixed it. For all that company, it's still a song about two voices, bruised and bright at the same time.
