"The Prophet" is older than the album it calls home. Slightly Stoopid put it on Meanwhile... Back at the Lab, the American band's eighth studio album, in 2015, but Miles Doughty's song, words and music both his, first surfaced as a hidden track on the band's 1996 debut, Slightly $toopid, a secret reserved for anyone who let the record keep playing.
Bringing it back nearly two decades later turned an old stowaway into a proper album cut, a reach back to where the band started.
