"Man" turns up on The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You, Neko Case's sixth album, which Anti put out in September 2013. She wrote it with guitarist Paul Rigby, and it's a crowded, electric room: Rigby, Steve Turner and M. Ward all on electric guitar, Tom Ray on bass, Kurt Dahle on drums and Bo Koster on piano and keys, with Case herself on guitar and tambourine.
She sings it with the full force of that big voice, backed by her own harmonies plus Rachel Flotard and Kelly Hogan. The album went on to a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.
