Long before Måneskin got hold of it, "Beggin'" belonged to the Four Seasons, who first put out the Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina song in 1967. The Italian band cut their take for Chosen, their 2017 EP, with Lucio Fabbri producing and Alessandro Marcantoni and Fabio Paciucci recording.
Damiano David takes the lead vocal and treats the old plea like something to be snarled rather than sighed, turning a lovelorn oldie into a strutting rock stomp. The gamble paid off big: their version went on to top charts across Europe and further afield.
