"The Feminine Urge" arrived in February 2024 on Prelude to Ecstasy, and the Last Dinner Party dressed it in full finery. Abigail Morris sings lead, with Georgia Davies on bass, L. Mayland and Emily Roberts on guitars and Aurora Nishevci covering organ, piano and synthesizer, and all four pile in on the backing vocals. Morris, Davies, Mayland, Roberts and Nishevci share the writing credit with Rhys Downing.
James Ellis Ford produced it and played the drums himself, and he brought in a proper string section, violins, violas, cellos and a double bass, to swell up behind the guitars. Alan Moulder mixed it and Jimmy Robertson engineered, and the result is baroque, theatrical and built to be sung back at full volume.
