"My Lady of Mercy" was one of the singles the Last Dinner Party drew from Prelude to Ecstasy, the English indie rock band's debut album, which Island released in February 2024, alongside "Nothing Matters", "Sinner", "On Your Side" and "Caesar on a TV Screen". James Ford produced it, Alan Moulder mixed it and Jimmy Robertson engineered.
Abigail Morris takes the lead vocal, with Aurora Nishevci on organ, piano and synthesizer, Georgia Davies on bass and Emily Roberts and L. Mayland on guitars, all four of them piling on extra vocals. The writing credit is split six ways, among those five and Rhys Downing: a proper gang effort.
