"The Sun Does Rise" comes from Take Me to God, the 1994 album Jah Wobble put out under the Invaders of the Heart banner, and it's one of the moments where he steps back and lets a guest take the spotlight: Dolores O'Riordan sings it, one of 12 guest vocalists Wobble brought in for the record.
Wobble plays bass and produced it. Mark Ferda is all over the track, on piano, engineering, mixing and assisting on production, while Justin Adams plays guitar and mandolin and John Reynolds drums; Wobble, Adams and Ferda chip in backing vocals. The album went to No. 13 in the UK, and the Guardian praised Wobble for letting his guests lead the way, with Caroline Sullivan later naming it the seventh-best album of 1994.
