“When The Curtain Falls” by Greta Van Fleet

"When the Curtain Falls" was the first single from Anthem of the Peaceful Army, Greta Van Fleet's debut album, and it arrived on July 17, 2018, before the record even had a title, to get the American rock band's summer tour rolling. Joshua Kiszka sings lead, Jake Kiszka plays guitar, Sam Kiszka bass and Daniel Wagner drums, all four share the writing credit, and Herschel Boone, Al Sutton and Marlon Young produced. Billboard singled out the pounding drums, the grimy, funk-tinged guitar solos and the vocals soaring for the rafters.

It made its national TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that July, and the video cut between the band playing in the desert and glowing-eyed onlookers watching what look like eclipses and the northern lights. In November it reached number one on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
