Drive-By Truckers didn't write "Everybody Needs Love": the words and music belong to Eddie Hinton, and the band brought the song onto Go-Go Boots, their ninth studio album, which came out on February 14, 2011 in Europe on Play It Again Sam and a day later in the US on ATO.
David Barbe produced, his eighth album with the band, and the record grew out of the same sessions that fed The Big To-Do: three blocks of recording in 2009 turned up 25 songs, which were split between the two albums, and the Truckers kept tinkering with Go-Go Boots through 2010, adding five more. Wes Freed designed the artwork, his eighth cover for them, and critics mostly took to the album.
