"Brother" was the first single from Twelve Year Silence, the debut album Dark New Day put out on Warner Bros. on June 14, 2005. Clint Lowery wrote it, and Brett Hestla takes the lead vocal, with Lowery and Troy McLawhorn on guitars, Corey Lowery on bass and Will Hunt on drums; nearly everybody in the room joins in on the backing vocals. Ben Grosse mixed it into a big, radio-sized roar.
Radio gave it only moderate play, but it turned into a surprise hit anyway, and it reached a whole other crowd when it came preloaded on the Xbox 360's Custom Mix playlist.
