"Recover" was the title song of CHVRCHES' debut EP, which came out in the UK on 25 March 2013 through Goodbye and Virgin, with Glassnote releasing it in America a day later. The Scottish band later sent it out again as the second single from their first album, The Bones of What You Believe. Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and Lauren Mayberry wrote it, the band produced it themselves, and Rich Costey mixed it into bright, big-shouldered synth-pop that sounds built for much bigger rooms.
It also gave them their first real dent in the charts, climbing to 91 on the UK Singles Chart, since their first single, "The Mother We Share", didn't chart until it was reissued that autumn. The EP also turned up on limited 12-inch vinyl for Record Store Day 2013, then again in orange for 2014.
