Dance and Cry by Mother Mother

Dance and Cry, the seventh album from Canada's Mother Mother, came out on Universal Music Canada on November 2, 2018, less than two years after No Culture. Ryan Guldemond produced it himself as well as singing and playing guitar, with Molly Guldemond and Jasmin Parkin on vocals and keyboards, Ali Siadat on drums and Mike Young, who had taken over bass from Jeremy Page in 2016.

The title is the brief: power pop that wants you moving and misty-eyed at once, with that pile-up of three voices doing a lot of the heavy lifting. "It's Alright" is the one that reached a rock countdown. Two years later the band's catalog blew up on TikTok, and a whole new crowd came looking.
