Jeff Tweedy's Twilight Override, released on September 26, 2025, sprawls by design: a triple album, 30 songs, out on dBpm Records five years after Love Is the King. The Wilco frontman got the idea on a road trip, playing the Clash's Sandinista! start to finish with his two sons, and he cut it at the Loft, his Chicago studio, with James Elkington, Liam Kazar, Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart of Finom, and Spencer and Sammy Tweedy pitching in.
The press notes paint a man staring down a world in decline, the twilight of an empire, and answering the gloom with sheer volume of work, making things as a way of pushing back against destruction. The folk-rock settings stay warm and unhurried, and "Lou Reed Was My Babysitter" shows the wry, tender side that keeps all that dread from swamping the record.
