About WHTG
WHTG-FM in Eatontown, New Jersey, began in 1961 as a beautiful music station and in 1984 moved to a mix of adult contemporary and alternative rock as "FM 106.3", where it became known for breaking new bands and gave Matt Pinfield his start. After Press Communications bought it in 2000 the station became "G106.3" and later "G-Rock", an alternative rock station also heard on simulcast signals in Ocean County. Press dropped the rock format for Top 40 on January 19, 2009; the 106.3 frequency is now WKMK.
