"Turn" was the single the Wombats sent out after "Lemon to a Knife Fight", and it sits third on the running order of their fourth album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life (2018). Frontman Matthew Murphy wrote it in New York with Blake Harnage and Micah Premnath, and it's a love song about the grit in a relationship: the quirks and small irritations you'd somehow end up missing.
The funny part is that Murphy was steering the album toward something earthier and less synth-driven, and he's called "Turn" the mistake that knocked the whole record onto a different course. Mark Crew, Catherine Marks and the band produced it, Rich Costey mixed, and Marius Drogsås Hagen adds guitar. It gave the English band a place on the US Alternative Songs chart.
