Vera Blue put out "Regular Touch" on 14 July 2017, the third single from her second album, Perennial, and it's a heartbreak song that ends up somewhere better than where it started. She told Triple J it came from picturing herself cut loose from old heartache and from needing another person to feel whole; what she landed on instead was self-love, and the freedom to get by without somebody's regular touch. Five writers share the credit: Adam Anders, Helen Croome, Andrew Macken, Thomas Macken and Celia Pavey, and a Vice remix followed that November.
It only grazed the ARIA singles chart at No. 97, but it refused to leave: 44 weeks in the ARIA Hitseekers top 20 by December 2018, platinum in 2019 and double platinum in January 2020.
