Perennial, released on 21 July 2017 through Universal Music Australia, was Celia Pavey's first album under the name Vera Blue, following Fingertips. She named it after plants that bloom again year after year, a metaphor for memories and relationships that keep circling back.
Recorded between Sydney and Los Angeles, it's split into three chapters that trace her growth as a songwriter, and the sound is the folk-meets-synth-pop blend she'd become known for: airy, soaring vocals over glistening electronics, with a singer-songwriter's intimacy at its core. "Regular Touch" and "Mended" were the tracks that got picked up. It went gold in Australia, and the J Awards nominated it for Australian Album of the Year.
