The record around it made plenty of noise. The band announced the album with a limited 12-inch of the title track and "Month of May", the record opened at number one in Canada, the United States, the UK and Ireland, and in 2011 it was named Album of the Year at both the Grammys and the Junos, picked up Best International Album at the BRITs and won the Polaris Music Prize. A deluxe edition followed in 2011, packaged with Spike Jonze's short film Scenes from the Suburbs.
