“Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez

"Until I Found You" is the song that broke Stephen Sanchez, released on September 1, 2021 and carried by a wave of TikTok love before it anchored his second EP, Easy on My Eyes, and later his debut album, Angel Face. He wrote it alone; Ian Fitchuk and Konrad Snyder produced, with Fitchuk playing piano, bass and drums, Sanchez on electric guitar and Snyder engineering and mixing.

It's blue-eyed soul with a vintage croon, addressed to Georgia, the girlfriend Sanchez was seeing long-distance at the time. He has said he felt he didn't deserve her and drove her away, and he wrote the song in the stretch after he'd lost her; they found their way back to each other later. A remix with Em Beihold helped push its Spotify streams past one billion.
