“Through My Teeth” by Spacey Jane

"Through My Teeth" arrived in 2025 as the third single from If That Makes Sense, the Australian indie rock band Spacey Jane's third album, following "All the Noise" and "How to Kill Houseplants". They wrote it with Jackson Phillips, and on the album it's the first proper song, rising straight out of the ambient "Intro".

It's a bright, dreamy guitar ballad that swells with spacious synths and heads for a chorus with pop on its mind, while underneath, frontman Caleb Harper wrestles with the guilt and dissonance of growing up. Critic Jules LeFevre heard a sideways account of Harper leaving his religious upbringing behind and diving headfirst into partying at university. The band named it one of their shared favourites from the record.
