"Alison" is Neil Halstead's song, words and music, and it did double duty for Slowdive: it was on their album Souvlaki, and it gave the 1993 Outside Your Room EP its name, the title lifted straight from its lyrics. The EP, the English shoegaze band's fourth, reached number 69 in the UK.
Slowdive produced it themselves and mixed it with Ed Buller, while Guy Fixsen and Andy Wilkinson engineered, with Giles Hall, Yvette Lacey and Marcus Lindsay assisting.
