"Nobody Praying for Me" comes from Isolate and Medicate, the sixth studio album by South African rock band Seether, and it went out as the record's third single on April 28, 2015, after "Same Damn Life". Brendan O'Brien produced and mixed it. Shaun Morgan sings and plays guitar, Dale Stewart plays bass and sings backup, and John Humphrey handles drums and percussion; the three share the music credit, and Morgan wrote the words.
Later, on June 30, the band put out an interactive set of videos for it, directed by Sherif Higazy and built around how perspective colors the way people see discrimination and the police. Morgan wanted viewers to think it through for themselves instead of taking cues from the media and leaping to conclusions based on race and profiling, a habit he owned up to himself.
