"Them Kids" was the lead single from Love at the End of the World, the third studio album by Canadian songwriter Sam Roberts, and it turned up on iTunes in early March 2008. It's alternative rock built for the car stereo, and Canadian rock radio couldn't get enough of it: the song went to number one on the country's rock chart, reached 36 on the Canadian Hot 100 and finished 2008 as the fifth-most played rock song in Canada.
The video was a gag that paid off. Director Dave Pawsey sent up The Sims, and the clip, which debuted in April 2008, picked up a Video of the Year nomination at the 2009 Juno Awards. At the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards it was up for Best Director and Best Post-Production, and it took home the second.
