Rüfüs put out "Like an Animal" in September 2015 as the second single from Bloom, the Australian alternative dance group's second album, which followed in 2016. It's sleek, sunset-hour stuff: soft pads, airy keys and a steady pulse, with guitars given a plastic sheen. The Guardian's Marcus Teague caught the stuttering hi-hats and the promise of an evening about to get loose, and Daily Review's Jacob Robinson heard glossy EDM pop whose giant drop tumbles into a frantic breakdown.
Katzki directed the video, which appeared a few days ahead of the single. At home it reached 44 on the ARIA chart, and it went platinum in Australia in 2017.
