The title track of Royal Blood's third album, "Typhoons" arrived as a single on 21 January 2021, months ahead of the record itself, after a short teaser went up on the band's social media pages the week before. Mike Kerr handles bass, keyboards and every vocal, Ben Thatcher the drums and percussion; the band produced it themselves and Matty Green mixed it. What comes out has been tagged dance-rock, and it struts like it knows it.
Kerr wrote the words about getting lost inside your own head, the dark spells anybody can fall into, and he wanted a song that owned up to them while still leaving the listener stronger. Quentin Deronzier directed the video, and the track later turned up in WWE 2K22 and in the trailer for F1 2021.
