"Strawberry Daydream" comes from Flowers, the debut album Australian alt-rock group Pacific Avenue released in May 2023. Ben Fryer, Jack Kay, Dom Littrich and Harry O'Brien share the writing credit, and Chris Collins produced it, as he did nearly all of the album after working on the band's 2022 single "Give it up for yourself"; only the lead single, "Easy Love", went to Jack Nigro. Sessions ran across five studios, but most of the record was cut at the Music Farm, out in the hinterland of Byron Bay.
The album climbed to number 3 on the ARIA Charts and brought the band nominations at the 2023 ARIA Music Awards, for Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist and Best Rock Album. 13th Floor's Simon Coffey summed it up as a fun, energetic record packed with hooks.
