Flowers by Pacific Avenue
Flowers is an album by Pacific Avenue, released in 2023. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 3 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Leaving for London”, on 1 list with a best position of #57.
Flowers, the debut album from Pacific Avenue, arrived on 5 May 2023, six years after the Australian four-piece first got together, and it plays like a band that spent that time learning how to write a chorus. Harry O'Brien sings and plays guitar, Ben Fryer handles lead guitar, Jack Kay plays bass and sings, and Dom Littrich drums, and together they deal in sunny, jangling guitar pop with a nostalgic glow: "Spin Me Like Your Records", "Strawberry Daydream" and "Leaving for London" all sound built for open car windows.
It went to number 3 on the ARIA chart, and a deluxe edition with five extra tracks followed in December. At the 2023 ARIA Music Awards it earned nominations for Best Rock Album and for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award, and the 2024 AIR Awards nominated it for Best Independent Rock Album or EP.
