"Brand New Numb" was one of the two singles Motionless in White unveiled together with the track list for Disguise, the title track being the other. The album, their fifth, came out through Roadrunner in June 2019, their second major-label record since leaving Fearless.
Chris Motionless sings it and co-produced it with WZRD BLD, and he shares the guitar and bass credits with Ricky "Horror" Olson and Ryan Sitkowski. The songwriting goes to Johnny Lee Andrews, Tom Hane, Chris Motionless and WZRD BLD. Disguise marked a line-up turn for the metalcore band, the first of their albums to credit Vinny Mauro on drums and the first without Josh Balz on keyboards.
