Disguise, the fifth studio album from Scranton, Pennsylvania, metalcore crew Motionless in White, came out on Roadrunner on June 7, 2019, their second major-label record since leaving Fearless. Drew Fulk produced it alongside frontman Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, and the lineup had shifted: it's the first album to credit Vinny Mauro on drums and the first without Josh Balz on keyboards.
Losing the keys doesn't mean losing the gloom. This is dark, theatrical metalcore with big, hooky choruses, Cerulli lurching between a snarl and a croon while guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky "Horror" Olson pile on the riffs. The title track and "Brand New Numb" were unveiled together in April, and "Another Life" gives the record its most wounded, melodic moment.
