"Snakeskin" was the opening shot from Breed Obsession, the third album by Australian alternative rockers Gyroscope, released as its first single in October 2007. All four members share the writing credit, and Daniel Sanders has described the band holing up away from the world while they wrote the record, and the song as a picture of where their heads were at, a snake sloughing off an old, worn-out skin.
It reached 30 on the ARIA Singles Chart. For the video the band set up inside a 200-metre crop circle cut specially on a Wiltshire farm near Stonehenge, the same farm where the Led Zeppelin crop circle on the Remasters cover was made. Network 10 used it in all its promos for the 2008 AFL season, and it picked up WAMi Awards for Best Single and Best Video.
