"3 Nights" was Dominic Fike's first single, lifted in 2018 from his Don't Forget About Me, Demos EP on Columbia, and it's about as unhurried as a breakout gets. Fike wrote it with Kevin "Capi" Carbo, who also produced, recorded and mixed it, and the pop hook sits so easily you'd swear it fell out of a late-night jam.
The song keeps Fike awake after hours in a motel in Fort Myers, Florida, the "City of Palms", trading messages and photos with a girl and telling her she's welcome to stay on her own terms. It went top ten in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia and Israel, not bad for a record with "demos" in the title.
