"Give Me a Sign" came off Dear Agony, the fourth Breaking Benjamin album, and went to rock radio in January 2010 as its second single, stretched to "Give Me a Sign (Forever and Ever)" for the occasion. Benjamin Burnley wrote it alone and sings lead, and he arranged it with producer David Bendeth, who also mixed; Burnley and Aaron Fink play guitar, Mark James Klepaski bass and Chad Szeliga drums.
It barely dented the Hot 100, at No. 97, but rock formats took to it in a big way: No. 6 on Mainstream Rock, No. 9 on Hot Rock Songs and No. 10 on Alternative Songs. An acoustic version followed a week or so later and ended up on the Japanese import of Dear Agony, and the song became a download for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero.
