It is licensed to Iowa Western Community College, whose Media Studies students host evening and weekend programming. The station has broadcast alternative rock since January 1, 1996, after earlier classical and jazz programming, and its 100,000-watt signal covers much of southwest Iowa and the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.
