"I Don't Know You Anymore" comes from Beauty & Ruin, the 2014 album that brought the former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman Bob Mould's solo count to 11. He wrote it alone and produced it himself, playing guitar and keyboard and adding percussion, with Jason Narducy on bass, Jon Wurster on drums and percussion, and Beau Sorenson engineering.
It's a three-piece doing the heavy lifting, Mould's songcraft backed by a rhythm section that keeps him honest. The album around it drew warm reviews and became the highest-charting solo record of his career.
