"99" comes from 404, the 2019 album by Barns Courtney, and it's a foot-stomper built on sweat and bravado. Courtney wrote it with Sam Bartle and handles almost everything that matters up front: lead vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion, strumming and thumping like he's trying to wake the neighbours.
Mike Crossey produced it, with Joseph E-Shine adding guitar and keys and Rob Ketchum on the kit, and Dan Grech-Marguerat's mix keeps the whole thing loud, bright and a little bit rowdy, the kind of chorus that's built for a festival field rather than a bedroom.
