Ian Davenport, whose résumé runs to Supergrass and Badly Drawn Boy, produced, recorded and mixed it, tracking the album at Courtyard Studios in Oxfordshire and mixing at the House of Blues studio in Los Angeles. Richardson's own paintings became the basis for the album's artwork.
