"Escapee" was the third single from Moment Bends, the fourth album by Australian indie-pop outfit Architecture in Helsinki, released at home in April 2011. Cameron Bird wrote the words and the music is credited to the whole band, who produced it with Haima Marriott; Marriott also engineered and mixed, and François Tétaz came aboard as co-producer.
The album, which spent a while under the working title Vision Revision, was made in a rented Melbourne studio the band nicknamed Buckingham Palace, thanks to the photo mural of Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham they hung on the wall. The song found a second life on the soundtrack of the video game FIFA 12.
