Amidst the Chaos, Sara Bareilles' sixth studio album, came out on Epic on April 5, 2019, and it's the Waitress composer stepping back from Broadway to make a grown-up, rootsy singer-songwriter record. T Bone Burnett produced, and he gives that clear, flexible voice plenty of room, wrapping them in warm, unshowy arrangements.
"Armor" went out as the lead single in October 2018, months ahead of the album, and the record opened in the Billboard 200's top ten, her sixth album to get there. The real trophy came later: "Saint Honesty" won her the Grammy for Best American Roots Performance at the 2020 ceremony.
