Legends Never Die by Juice Wrld

Legends Never Die, the third studio album from Juice Wrld, arrived on July 10, 2020, through Grade A Productions and Interscope, about seven months after the Chicago rapper died on December 8, 2019. A posthumous record is always a strange thing to sit with, and this one leans into the emo rap he helped carry into the mainstream: melodic, wounded, hook-heavy.

The guest list is long and starry: the Weeknd, Trippie Redd, Marshmello, Polo G, the Kid Laroi and Halsey. Six singles came off it, "Righteous" and "Wishing Well" among them, and "Come & Go" with Marshmello went to number two on the Hot 100. Reviews were mostly warm, and the numbers were staggering: it opened at number one on the Billboard 200, moving 497,000 album-equivalent units in week one, topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK, and tied the records for the biggest posthumous debut and for the most US top-ten hits off a single album.
