Ritual by In This Moment

Ritual, In This Moment's sixth studio album, came out on July 21, 2017, through Atlantic and Roadrunner, and it's a full-on concept record, spun around a witch caught up in the Salem witch trials. Maria Brink plays it to the hilt, and Kevin Churko, producing the band for the fifth time, gives it the dark, cinematic heft it needs.

It was also their first album without drummer Tom Hane, who had left in 2016 over creative differences; Kent Diimmel took over behind the kit, with Brink out front, Chris Howorth and Randy Weitzel on guitars and Travis Johnson on bass. The title and cover were unveiled on social media in May, with lead single "Oh Lord" and its video following a day later. "Oh Lord" became the band's highest-charting single, and "Roots" kept the spell going on the countdowns.
