Black Widow by In This Moment
Black Widow is an album by In This Moment, released in 2014. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 3 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Sick Like Me”, on 2 lists with a best position of #12.
Black Widow, In This Moment's fifth studio album, came out on Atlantic in November 2014, and it marked the Los Angeles band's jump to a major label after years with Century Media. Kevin Churko produced it, and the lineup that made it had Maria Brink on lead vocals, Chris Howorth and Randy Weitzel on guitars, Travis Johnson on bass and Tom Hane on drums. It turned out to be Hane's second and final album with them; he quit in March 2016.
It's metalcore and alternative metal built big and glossy for a bigger stage, with Brink's voice front and center and the riffs grinding away underneath. The move up paid off: Black Widow debuted at number 8, still the band's highest chart position, and "Sick Like Me" and "Big Bad Wolf" kept it on the countdowns into the following year.
