Rebuild Repeat, Hockey Dad's fourth album, came out on 14 June 2024 through Wollongong's Farmer & the Owl, their first new full-length since Brain Candy in 2020. The Windang surf-rock duo, Zach Stephenson on vocals and guitar and Billy Fleming on drums, came to it after a couple of foggy, unsettled years, and the title is their own shorthand for how a record gets made: knock the old version down, redraw it, build it back up, go again.
"Still Have Room" kicked things off on 30 October 2023 with a video shot in Wollongong, their first new song in more than a year. "Base Camp" followed while the pair were out touring the US, then "Safety Pin". It's still two guys making a racket that sounds like four, their '60s garage roots scuffed up and pointed at the horizon, and they took it around Australia on tour from June 2024.
