Blackbird by Alter Bridge
Blackbird is an album by Alter Bridge, released in 2007. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Rise Today”, on 3 lists with a best position of #34.
Blackbird, Alter Bridge's second album, came out on Universal Republic in October 2007, and it's where the Orlando band really stretched its wings. Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips had regrouped with singer Myles Kennedy in 2004 after Creed went quiet, and this record gave Kennedy room to soar over Tremonti's twisting, heavyweight riffs. It also began the band's long run with producer Michael Baskette.
"Rise Today" came out first as the single, on July 30, with "Watch Over You" also on board. The label's marketing was thin and mainstream success modest, but critics praised the songwriting and the playing, and it still sold 47,000 copies out of the gate on its way to a number 13 peak in the US.
